As always, Eleven2 works to ensure the level of service we provide our customers is the best in the industry, as a continued part of our commitment to this, we are providing a free upgrade to the server which your account is hosted on this.

This server upgrade, will be a migration to a brand new server, with roughly 4x the resources of your existing server. This migration will begin at 5:00PM CST, this evening, Friday November 4, 2011.

We do not anticipate any downtime or problems in this migration as we perform similar upgrades every week.

Thanks,
Kevin Smith - Sr. Systems Administrator

So does this mean we can't access WHM or cPanel on reseller accounts? I also have been locked out of uploading via FTP (my disk is "full"). Notifying clients of an upgrade with less than 24 hours of lead time is highly unusual, and is negatively affecting my delivery of a product tonight. Not happy in the least about any of this.

Just to recap, you've been doing this move for 5 hours now. There's not supposed to be any downtime, but amazingly, I can't get any of my scheduled work done tonight with no connection to the control panel, WHM or practically any other aspect of my server. You don't seem to have a graceful solution to this situation, or if you do, no one has a suggestion here.

And now I can finally access it for a brief moment, here's *THIS* message:

Sorry for the inconvenience!

The filesystem mounted at /home/[[redacted]] on this server is running out of disk space. cPanel operations have been temporarily suspended to prevent something bad from happening. Please ask your system admin to remove any files not in use on that partition.

An ETA would be nice. I'm almost ready to just switch to a company like MediaTemple.

It looks like it's finally returning to normal performance. Still, it would have been nice to have some sort of explanation of what was going on. This was a harrowing few hours, and not communicating with your subscribers is scary.

This server is basically completed now, we have a few accounts, ~10 which have more than 50GB of data which we are manually moving, anything else is live and online on the new server.

We have not had any reports of issues during this migration as things migrate each account at a time.

Please e-mai me your ticket number to rodney@eleven2.com or account details so I can check into this for you.

We were never informed of any pending IP changes, and because of this have lost a week's worth of work, email, etc. for all of our clients that had accounts with us. Hopefully we'll be able to retain them. I can't believe this.

It can be retained, however that would mean you are not using our DNS and we highly recommend you always use our DNS servers to prevent issues such as this.

If you have any issues, just simply submit a ticket and our 24x7 team can assist you.
