Its an exciting day here at eleven2, because we just put our e2 panel live across all of our shared servers! I know most of you are thinking “that just looks like the old cPanel with a new header” while that may be true, this is just the first step into something amazing that is currently in development. There are some great new features along with this new look.
- Enhanced AJAX environment
- Round Cube webmail update
- Backend Security updates
- DNS zone editor
- And much More!
Here is a large screen shot you can take a look at!
Our favorite feature has to be the DNS zone editor! You no longer have to submit a ticket to create DNS changes on your account! Again, this is just the first part of an amazing project that e2 has been working on for quite sometime and we look forward to launching it so you can have the best hosting experience ever! We have enabled the e2 panel on all shared accounts but if it didn’t make it to yours here is a quick video tutorial on how to change.
If you are using the x or x2 theme and want to use the e2 panel just pop in a support ticket and we can get you switched over right away.
Thanks!
With today’s release of apple’s iPad begins what I’m calling the War on Tablets. Today I want to look at the new Apple iPad and the joojoo, formally known as the crunchpad. I know most people are thinking what the hell is the joojoo and how can it remotely compare to anything the almighty apple corporation puts out. The winner for me is the joojoo, for the camera, usb port and flash and java support. The fact that it is a browser based platform means I wouldn’t need the massive amounts of storage, plus I have an iphone I feel the ipad would just be a little redundant. The fact that it has flah so I can watch my hulu videos etc, something I can’t do on an iPad. Thanks for reading!
We are cranking away on something cool right now, that we hope to have released in the next week or so, but we have also done quite a bit in the last few weeks that we thought we would go ahead and share now before we forget.
We hired 5 more tech support agents in the last 30 days as well as our new CTO. Please welcome Kevin, Isaac, Taylor, Andy and Justin. These new support agents are going to improve the response times of our current technical support and ensure our documentation is always up2date. We are really excited about these recent additions. We also welcome to our team Brandon Burns, our newly appointed CTO (Chief Technology Officer). Brandon is responsible for making sure all of our infrastructure is working just the way it is suppose to and ensuring we are staying ahead of the latest new technologies. He is also a resident programmer and server disposal technician.
We are also updating our support system in a 2 phase upgrade, which we are almost completed with phase 1 tonight. This is not as huge to the customer as it is for us on the staff side of things. This upgrade will give our staff the ability to communicate faster internally as well as with our customer. We are very excited to have this rolled out and looking forward to making some great improvements on the client side of things shortly.
Also, we have a great deal running right now on our Managed Dedicated Servers starting at only $179.99 per month – these normally are $219.99 per month, but we have a special price running right now through the end of August. Just email sales@eleven2.com if you are interested in getting one of these setup TODAY!
We got with it, and installed Git on all servers now.
Just let us know if you have any questions regarding it and you should be able to use it now via command line!
We have recently been having allot of issues with Yahoo and ATT blacklist’s. We have found a solution and now have this available to all clients that wish to have their individual mail on their own IP address to prevent any further issues like this. A static IP cost only $4 per month and we can deliver this in a matter of a few moments.
So next time if you ever get blacklisted it is because of something you send and not anything related to anyone else on the server.
To get this setup today, please contact our Sales Department at sales@eleven2.com
Due to many report of our SSH server, OpenSSH, being exploitable right now, we are going to temporarily disable SSH for the time being. Inforamtion can be seen here about this issue: http://isc.sans.org/diary.html?storyid=6742
We do know of a few competitors who have entire servers rooted and wiped due to this exploit, we are just not willing to take any risk here for our customers.
We will post a update here when all is back to normal and we can confirm we are all safe.
It’s hotter than sin outside and Texas has been breaking heat records for the past week. You know things are bad when you break into sweat walking to your car. With heat hitting pretty hard we decied to take advantage of this an see if the old expression is true, is it really hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk? With a quick trip to the local grocery store we had our supplies.
If you want to try this at home you will need:
-Eggs
- Foil
-Texas Heat: It was 103 when we conducted this experiment.
After about 10 minutes your egg should look something like this:
Select your favorite salsa or add some pepper and dig in!
(It should be noted that we have absolutely no intetion of anyone trying to eat an egg cooked this way. In fact we strongly recomend against it.)
We are so cool here at Eleven2 we have 2 Twitter accounts now and we want to let everyone be aware of these!
twitter.com/eleven2 – for general what is going on at E2
twitter.com/e2status – service notifications
This is a idea that was born from customer suggestion, so if you have any suggestions, please let us know, we are all ears and might do what you want!
We are really excited to announce a new program we are starting up for the summer. We know with school out there are a lot of students out there with a little time on their hands to work on their own projects. So with this in mind we’ve decided to issue a limited number of free accounts for any student with an idea that they want to work on. These ideas can be anything from a photoblog or community forum to a web-app or game mod, maybe even the next Twitter.
Eleven2 was formed by designers and developers and so whenever we see those kind of people make up are user base it has a natural tendency to excite us. We love seeing the incredible creativity of our clients come through. All of us have been students at one point. We know that its not always easy to justify the cost of a website when your trying to save money for your education and so for us to be able to remove that creative obstacle is, for us, a very cool thing. We’re incredibly excited to see the kind of work that that students are going to create with this opportunity, and happy to think that eleven2 will have some part of that.
We’ll be here to help you flesh out your idea, or give you any help we can.
Students wishing to participate in the program should email a brief summery of their project idea to brett@eleven2.com along with a their name and the name of the school they currently attend. There are a limited number of accounts that will be provided in the program, and participation in the program is at the sole discretion of eleven2.
